A roof is more than the shingles you see from the street.
Decking, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, drip edge and the shingles all work together. When one of them is wrong, the whole roof suffers.
We tear off to the deck, replace bad wood, and build the roof back the right way. Synthetic underlayment, proper ice and water protection where it belongs, new flashing where the old flashing can’t be trusted, and ventilation that actually lets the attic breathe. That last one matters in North Texas summers.
When we’re done, we clean up. Magnet sweeps for nails around the house, the driveway and the yard. Then Derik or the foreman walks the job.
What goes into a Kilker roof
Tear-off & deck
Full tear-off to the deck. Damaged or rotted decking replaced so the new roof has something solid to hold on to.
Underlayment
Synthetic underlayment across the roof and leak barrier in valleys and other vulnerable areas.
Flashing
Step, wall, chimney and penetration flashing done right. This is where most leaks start.
Ventilation
Intake and exhaust balanced so the attic isn’t cooking your shingles and running up your power bill.
Shingles
Architectural and impact-resistant shingle options from GAF, Owens Corning and CertainTeed.
Clean-up
Tarps over landscaping, magnetic sweeps for nails, haul-off of all debris. Your yard should look like we were never there.
Common questions
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most homes in this area are torn off and reroofed in one to two days. Bigger, steeper or more complex roofs, or roofs with a lot of rotted decking, can take longer. Weather is the other variable.
What shingles do you install?
We install shingle systems from major manufacturers including GAF, Owens Corning and CertainTeed. We’ll walk you through options including impact-resistant shingles, which some insurance companies discount premiums for.
Do you replace bad decking?
Yes. Once the old roof is off we can see the decking. Rotted, delaminated or broken sheets get replaced before anything goes back on. We’ll show you photos.
Do I need a permit or HOA approval?
Most cities around here require a permit for a full re-roof, and we handle that. HOA approval of shingle style and color is usually on the homeowner, and we’ll give you the product info your HOA asks for.
Can I finance a new roof?
Financing is available for qualified customers through a third-party lender, subject to credit approval. See financing.
